Loyalty has become a forgotten virtue in today's world of convenience and self-focus. This raw, challenging episode confronts what true loyalty looks like in an age where commitment has become optional and faithfulness rare.

The loyalty crisis affecting our world manifests in three critical areas. First, in our relationship with God—where many offer lip service without the obedience that costs something. Biblical loyalty isn't about religious performance but showing up when temptation strikes, when God seems silent in suffering, and when the crowd abandons ship. As Rick powerfully reminds us, "American Christianity preaches comfort. Biblical Christianity preaches loyalty."

The crisis extends into our relationships, where we're often connected but not committed. True loyalty gets tested when friends struggle with addiction or depression, when difficult confrontations become necessary, and when forgiveness feels impossible. Like Ruth told Naomi, loyalty declares, "where you go, I'll go" even when there's nothing to gain but shared sorrow.

Most challenging is the call to remain loyal to the church—protecting what God is building despite imperfections. With believers leaving churches over offense rather than doctrine, leaders burning out, and congregations splitting over personalities, we need the steadfastness described in Hebrews 10:25. The remnant God is raising in these end times aren't perfect, but they're faithful when it's unpopular, present when it's difficult, and unwavering when everything shakes. Will you be among the loyal ones still standing when Christ returns? The decision starts today.

00:00:00.882 --> 00:00:03.750
The world is changing and time is running out.

00:00:03.750 --> 00:00:12.390
This is Renewed Mindsets, where we confront Biblical truth head-on no sugarcoating, no compromise.

00:00:12.390 --> 00:00:28.689
We expose false doctrine, reveal fulfilled prophecy and shine light on the demonic deception of these last days, but we also stand firm on the hope of Christ's return, the call to holiness and the urgency of true salvation.

00:00:28.689 --> 00:00:34.432
It's time to renew your mind, for the time is now.

00:00:34.432 --> 00:00:37.121
Let's go, boys.

00:00:37.121 --> 00:00:53.292
Hey, welcome back to Renewed Mindsets, the podcast that shakes up soft religion and realigns your thinking with the mind of Christ.

00:00:53.292 --> 00:00:56.194
I'm Rick and I'm so glad you're here.

00:00:57.475 --> 00:01:09.085
In today's episode we're going to hit really deep Because we're talking about a word that this generation doesn't even understand anymore Loyalty, loyalty.

00:01:09.085 --> 00:01:14.275
We're watching a loyalty crisis unfold in our world.

00:01:14.275 --> 00:01:24.947
People are loyal to convenience, not conviction, to feelings, not truth to self, not to God, not truth to self, not to God.

00:01:24.947 --> 00:01:35.697
Loyalty isn't loud, it doesn't advertise itself, but it shows up in how we obey God, how we love people and how we handle the church.

00:01:35.697 --> 00:01:50.923
In a culture that ghosted commitment, the loyal ones will shine bright in the darkness.

00:01:50.923 --> 00:01:53.146
So today I'm asking are you one of the last loyal ones?

00:01:53.146 --> 00:02:06.921
So let's begin where loyalty has to start with God, not with lip service, not with bumper sticker faith, but with obedience when it costs you.

00:02:06.941 --> 00:02:14.629
Luke 9.23 says If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily and follow me.

00:02:14.629 --> 00:02:16.992
Those are the words of Jesus.

00:02:16.992 --> 00:02:20.716
That doesn't sound like a Sunday morning slogan, does it?

00:02:20.716 --> 00:02:25.324
That's a lifestyle of sacrifice.

00:02:25.324 --> 00:02:27.810
So so when is our loyalty to God tested?

00:02:27.810 --> 00:02:39.024
Well, it's tested when you're tempted by what you used to love, that old addiction, that toxic relationship, that shortcut to success.

00:02:39.024 --> 00:02:42.609
The temptation says God will understand.

00:02:42.609 --> 00:02:47.795
Loyalty says I'd rather offend my flesh than offend my king.

00:02:47.795 --> 00:02:54.453
It's also tested when God seems silent in your suffering.

00:02:54.453 --> 00:03:00.219
Your child's not healed yet your marriage still feels cold.

00:03:00.219 --> 00:03:01.847
The money is still tight.

00:03:01.847 --> 00:03:12.305
Loyalty says even if I don't see the miracle, I'll still worship the master Job 13.15,.

00:03:12.305 --> 00:03:15.609
Though he slay me, yet, I will trust him.

00:03:15.609 --> 00:03:30.164
It's also tested when the crowd walks away, when your friends are deconstructing their faith, when leaders fall, when culture mocks you for your convictions.

00:03:30.786 --> 00:03:34.480
Loyalty means staying when others sprint for the exit.

00:03:34.480 --> 00:03:42.391
John 6, 66 through 68 says many turned back and no longer followed him.

00:03:42.391 --> 00:03:44.975
Jesus asked Do you want to leave too?

00:03:44.975 --> 00:03:50.331
Peter replied Lord, to whom shall we go?

00:03:50.331 --> 00:03:54.548
There's been times I've wanted to run.

00:03:54.548 --> 00:04:02.528
There's times where things were difficult for me, where I was and I thought I could just leave and it'd be so much better.

00:04:02.528 --> 00:04:04.668
But then I say, where would I go?

00:04:04.668 --> 00:04:08.929
No place is better than where I'm at.

00:04:08.929 --> 00:04:11.705
I've just got to overcome this.

00:04:11.705 --> 00:04:14.454
Think of Daniel.

00:04:14.454 --> 00:04:20.507
He was loyal to Babylon and they told him to bow, but he stood.

00:04:20.507 --> 00:04:23.845
They told him to be quiet, he just prayed louder.

00:04:25.355 --> 00:04:36.769
Or, in a real-time thing, the persecuted church today, believers in North Korea or China, parts of Africa, who lose everything but refuse to deny Christ.

00:04:36.769 --> 00:04:40.725
American Christianity preaches comfort.

00:04:40.725 --> 00:04:43.997
Biblical Christianity preaches loyalty.

00:04:43.997 --> 00:04:55.581
Under pressure and in these end times we're seeing a false Jesus being preached, a sanitized, sin-affirming, powerless version of Christ.

00:04:55.581 --> 00:04:58.444
But Jesus said in John 4.15, of Christ.

00:04:58.444 --> 00:05:03.310
But Jesus said in John 4.15, if you love me, you will keep my commandments.

00:05:03.310 --> 00:05:13.971
That's not legalism, that's loyal love.

00:05:18.115 --> 00:05:21.555
Let's talk about loyalty in relationships, because betrayal isn't just happening in the world, it's happening in the body of Christ.

00:05:21.555 --> 00:05:27.286
Proverbs 17, 17 says A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity.

00:05:27.286 --> 00:05:30.985
Today, friendship is shallow.

00:05:30.985 --> 00:05:34.625
People are connected but they're not committed.

00:05:34.625 --> 00:05:39.795
We post prayers but ghost the friend who's drowning.

00:05:39.795 --> 00:05:42.218
We post prayers but ghost the friend who's drowning.

00:05:42.218 --> 00:05:45.880
So earlier we talked about when is loyalty to God tested.

00:05:45.880 --> 00:05:51.747
Now let's talk about when is loyalty to one another tested.

00:05:51.747 --> 00:05:54.930
It's tested when somebody's struggling.

00:05:54.930 --> 00:06:00.637
Do we stand with them or do we judge them from a distance?

00:06:00.637 --> 00:06:03.906
Someone falls into addiction or depression or sin.

00:06:03.906 --> 00:06:09.017
Do we avoid them or do we go get them?

00:06:09.017 --> 00:06:17.713
Galatians, chapter 6, 1 and 2 says If someone is caught in sin, restore them gently, carry each other's burdens.

00:06:17.713 --> 00:06:23.857
Yeah, it's also tested when confrontation is required.

00:06:23.877 --> 00:06:26.482
Loyalty isn't passive, it's not enabling.

00:06:26.482 --> 00:06:39.355
It means loving someone enough to say you're screwing up, you're drifting and I care too much to let you fall.

00:06:39.355 --> 00:06:42.627
Proverbs 27.6, faithful are the words of a friend.

00:06:42.627 --> 00:06:46.502
Another way it's tested when forgiveness is hard.

00:06:46.502 --> 00:06:52.802
Someone hurts you, wounds you, disappoints you.

00:06:52.802 --> 00:07:05.098
Loyalty doesn't always mean reconciliation, but it does mean refusing to slander, refusing to seek revenge and staying Christ-like even in the pain.

00:07:07.360 --> 00:07:08.322
Now here's an example.

00:07:08.322 --> 00:07:09.966
Think of Ruth.

00:07:09.966 --> 00:07:16.540
When Naomi had nothing left, she said where you go, I'll go.

00:07:16.540 --> 00:07:19.045
Your God will be my God.

00:07:19.045 --> 00:07:26.759
People, that's loyalty to someone who could offer her nothing but shared sorrow.

00:07:26.759 --> 00:07:28.184
Or think of Paul and Barnabas.

00:07:28.184 --> 00:07:38.754
They had real conflict, but both kept serving Christ and the gospel kept moving.

00:07:38.754 --> 00:07:41.238
We're not called to like everybody, but we have to love.

00:07:41.238 --> 00:07:43.365
Loyalty doesn't always look like agreement.

00:07:43.365 --> 00:07:49.059
It looks like grace and perseverance.

00:07:49.059 --> 00:07:55.788
So we've discussed being loyal to God, being loyal to one another.

00:07:59.836 --> 00:08:02.745
Now let's talk about loyalty to the church, protecting what God is building.

00:08:02.745 --> 00:08:09.668
We're in a time where the church is under pressure from the outside and the inside.

00:08:09.668 --> 00:08:15.987
People are leaving churches not because of truth but because of offense.

00:08:15.987 --> 00:08:21.966
Leaders are burning out because the sheep expect perfection without offering prayer.

00:08:21.966 --> 00:08:27.608
Churches are splitting not over doctrine but personalities and preferences.

00:08:27.608 --> 00:08:33.965
Hebrews 10.25 says Do not give up meeting together, but encourage one another.

00:08:33.965 --> 00:08:39.461
Don't quit going, encourage one another, keep going to church.

00:08:41.317 --> 00:08:43.565
Now, when is loyalty to the church tested?

00:08:43.565 --> 00:08:47.404
Well, when leadership makes mistakes.

00:08:47.404 --> 00:08:49.982
You know, you know what I'm talking about.

00:08:49.982 --> 00:08:54.525
Do you correct in love and pray, or do you spread gossip and leave?

00:08:54.525 --> 00:08:56.519
No church is perfect.

00:08:56.519 --> 00:08:58.926
No leader is flawless.

00:08:59.835 --> 00:09:04.047
Loyalty means staying rooted while pursuing truth and accountability.

00:09:04.047 --> 00:09:15.246
Another way loyalty is tested with the church when you're asked to serve, not just receive.

00:09:15.246 --> 00:09:19.404
Consumer Christianity says what can I get?

00:09:19.404 --> 00:09:26.168
Kingdom loyalty says what can I get.

00:09:26.168 --> 00:09:27.355
Kingdom loyalty says where can I serve?

00:09:27.355 --> 00:09:34.038
First Corinthians, chapter 12, verse 27, says you are the body of Christ and each one of you is part of it Another way.

00:09:34.940 --> 00:09:40.486
Loyalty to the church is tested when offense comes knocking at the door.

00:09:40.486 --> 00:09:43.610
People are going to disappoint you.

00:09:43.610 --> 00:09:50.628
Sermons won't always inspire you, but loyalty means you don't bail at the first conflict.

00:09:50.628 --> 00:09:52.962
You fight for unity.

00:09:52.962 --> 00:10:00.121
Ephesians 4.3 says Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

00:10:00.121 --> 00:10:03.808
I mean, look at Jesus and his disciples.

00:10:03.808 --> 00:10:12.623
He built a church with a tax collector, a zealot, a doubter and a betrayer, but still he didn't abandon them.

00:10:12.623 --> 00:10:19.388
A church divided will never survive the end times, but a loyal remnant will.

00:10:19.388 --> 00:10:28.177
So let me ask you are you one of the last loyal ones?

00:10:28.177 --> 00:10:30.490
Yeah, I said the last.

00:10:30.490 --> 00:10:31.152
What does that mean?

00:10:31.152 --> 00:10:36.777
The Bible warns us that before Jesus returns, there's going to be a great falling away.

00:10:36.777 --> 00:10:45.215
2 Thessalonians 2.3 says that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first.

00:10:45.215 --> 00:10:49.514
We are watching that rebellion right now.

00:10:51.044 --> 00:10:52.128
Loyalty is rare.

00:10:52.128 --> 00:10:54.575
Betrayal is common.

00:10:54.575 --> 00:11:00.048
But you weren't called to follow the crowd, you were called to follow Christ.

00:11:00.048 --> 00:11:03.034
You don't need a platform to be loyal.

00:11:03.034 --> 00:11:04.778
You don't need applause.

00:11:04.778 --> 00:11:14.756
You just need a surrendered heart and a determined spirit that says though none go with me, still I will follow.

00:11:14.756 --> 00:11:18.812
So it's about to get intense.

00:11:21.027 --> 00:11:22.351
Loyalty starts today.

00:11:22.351 --> 00:11:26.092
Here's my call to action.

00:11:26.092 --> 00:11:30.355
Stop giving God half-hearted obedience.

00:11:30.355 --> 00:11:34.195
Stop walking away from people who need you.

00:11:34.195 --> 00:11:37.991
Stop hopping churches and calling it.

00:11:37.991 --> 00:11:39.375
Well, god moved me.

00:11:39.375 --> 00:11:40.470
God told me to move.

00:11:40.470 --> 00:11:44.094
Recommit your loyalty to Jesus.

00:11:44.094 --> 00:11:46.412
Love someone who's hurting.

00:11:46.412 --> 00:11:49.912
Serve your church with passion and humility.

00:11:49.912 --> 00:11:53.227
If you've been disloyal, repent.

00:11:53.227 --> 00:11:57.576
If you've been wounded, heal, but don't harden.

00:11:57.576 --> 00:12:01.166
If you're still standing, stay strong.

00:12:01.166 --> 00:12:02.708
God sees you.

00:12:02.708 --> 00:12:06.755
You're not called to blend in.

00:12:06.755 --> 00:12:14.917
You're called to stand out In the fire, in the storm in the last days.

00:12:19.767 --> 00:12:27.297
Well, if you're still here, man, I love these bonus segments because you get really the best part of the whole podcast.

00:12:27.297 --> 00:12:30.374
It's the ones who really want to hear it.

00:12:30.374 --> 00:12:35.250
Let me ask you do you know what betrayal sounds like?

00:12:35.250 --> 00:12:40.720
Huh, it's the clink of 30 silver coins.

00:12:40.720 --> 00:12:45.395
It's the soft footsteps of disciples scattering in the night.

00:12:45.395 --> 00:12:51.413
It's the kiss of a friend who says rabbi while selling out the Son of God.

00:12:51.413 --> 00:12:55.471
But do you know what loyalty sounds like?

00:12:55.471 --> 00:13:05.494
Nothing, no spotlight, no fanfare, just silence and obedience.

00:13:07.346 --> 00:13:09.514
Loyalty doesn't need to announce itself.

00:13:09.514 --> 00:13:13.075
It just shows up in a prison cell, like Paul and Silas.

00:13:13.075 --> 00:13:16.874
It stands beside a bleeding Savior.

00:13:16.874 --> 00:13:22.876
Like John, it weeps at the tomb and still waits for a resurrection, like Mary.

00:13:22.876 --> 00:13:29.806
We've got too many Peters warming themselves at the fire and not enough Daniels praying in the window.

00:13:29.806 --> 00:13:37.206
Too many Judas hearts dressed in church clothes and not enough Esther saying if I perish, I perish.

00:13:37.206 --> 00:13:50.378
This world doesn't need more opinions, it needs more loyal hearts faithful when it's not popular, present when it's not easy, and unwavering when the ground is shaking.

00:13:51.365 --> 00:13:54.051
The remnant God is raising up in these end times.

00:13:54.051 --> 00:13:57.378
They are not perfect, but they're loyal.

00:13:57.378 --> 00:14:01.171
They fall but they rise again.

00:14:01.171 --> 00:14:03.976
They hurt but they heal.

00:14:03.976 --> 00:14:08.951
In truth, they carry crosses while the crowd chases comfort.

00:14:08.951 --> 00:14:18.457
Revelation 17, 14 says the Lamb will overcome and with him are his, called, chosen and faithful.

00:14:18.457 --> 00:14:25.738
Not the talented, not the flashy, not the TikTok theologians, the faithful.

00:14:25.738 --> 00:14:37.767
When the dust settles and the world collapses, will you still be standing, not because of your strength, but because you stayed loyal to the one who never betrayed you.

00:14:37.767 --> 00:14:41.455
Jesus didn't flinch when they whipped him.

00:14:41.455 --> 00:14:43.784
He didn't quit when they mocked him.

00:14:43.784 --> 00:14:46.991
He didn't call down angels when they nailed him to the cross.

00:14:46.991 --> 00:14:50.946
So don't you dare walk away now.

00:14:50.946 --> 00:15:01.187
You stay loyal, you stay holy and you stay ready, because he's coming back and he's coming for the loyal ones.
